While studying architecture at the University of Illinois, Bret Wozniak's aunt asked him to go to New York with her while she took her daughters to a modeling conference. He was the only guy at the conference and one of the conference scouts kept bugging him to fill in the forms. Finally he did, just so they'd leave him alone. He really wasn't interested in modeling at all, at the time.

Little more than a year later, Bret has done shows for Gucci, Versus, Gianfranco Ferre, the Gianfranco Ferre Studio, Enrico Covery and Claude Montana. He has appeared in television commercials for Ashia beer in Japan, American Crew in Chicago and Burdines in Miami.
He has been featured in campaigns for Forum Jeans (Steven Klein) and Clone Shoes (Lorenzo Marcicci), as well as print ads for Calvin Klein Looks and KMS hair products. And editorially, you've seen his photographs in Italian GQ (Albert Watson), Vogue Sposa (Claus Wickrath), Glamour and Cosmopolitan magazines.

What happened at that New York conference to change your mind about modeling?
At the end of the conference, they called out my name as someone with potential and the scout talked to me about modeling, what was involved. When she started telling me about making $10,000 just to do a show in Milan, I thought to myself, if people are willing to pay me to go to other countries, I'm in! Of course I later learned she was way off base. Guys are lucky to make much money at all in Milan, but I've never looked back since.
