Brice Durand: The French Connection

By Sean Bickerton | December 1, 2002Email Article
Four weeks ago Brice Durand burst into the spotlight with a sultry performance as Britney Spear's hunky lover in the princess of pop's latest music video "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know." A very Tauran 6'1" Taurus Brice is a muscular 190 pounds, but even so has walked the runway for designers such as Cerutti, Armani and Versace. He has been photographed by Daniela Federici for a national Guess campaign; by Aldo Falai for Reporter; by Steven Klein for Matrix Hair Products, a new L'Oreal spin-off; by Pablo Alfaro for Zoolander; and by Herb Ritts for the Britney Spears video. Editorially, he's been featured in Harper's Bazaar Uomo, Stuff and Maxim magazines in addition to a rare male cover for Men's Journal.

And because the Britney video has become a Top 5 pick on MTV's TRL, it's popularity has led to other appearances and interviews for Brice which so far include Page 6, The Daily News, Extra TV, USA Today, MTV Kiss and Tell, and an upcoming appearance on the Mandy Moore Show at the MTV Beach House.

Now 23, Durand is rapidly becoming one of the year's hottest faces. Appropriately he will also be featured as the face for the fashion campaign featured in Ben Stiller's new movie Zoolander, a send-up of the fashion industry. He is a dynamo — full of energy, constantly moving — and he is full of personality and passion. His face lights up when he talks about going fast, one of his greatest joys, and then darkens in a flash with a classically Gaullic scowl when talking about something he doesn't like. He is completely charming, effortlessly so, as is the French accent which gives everything he says so much character.
