What are you reading?
I just finished reading Huck Finn. That was a great book.
What did you like about it?
Just the whole journey, going down the river. It is such a beautiful representation for growing up. And the way Mark Twain uses the way the boys actually talked, their entire culture — it's not as formal, and it's a huge break from most of the other writing of the time. He's amazing. I think I'm going to read East of Eden next, by John Steinbeck. I recently read The Great Gatsby ...

You're just chewing up all this great American literature.
Yeah, I love it. It's so good.
There's a certainty, a sensibility that you can sink into, a groundedness that's so solid ...
Exactly, there's something very American in it ...
Confident and sure ...
And a freedom inside the writing ... it's very beautiful stuff and it's completely unique. I've also been reading a lot of poetry by Frost ...
You're reading Robert Frost?
Yeah, just ... loving it, you know?
What would you say has been the most surprising thing about modeling for you?
The thing that surprised me most was that a lot of the guys do this as a secondary thing, just to make extra money. So everyone has a different life story, and you get to meet these really interesting people. It serves you very well when you get to hear other people's life stories and learn from their experiences.
Why did it surprise you?
Because I hadn't been around adult modeling before and there are so many stereotypes out there. I guess in the back of my mind I thought the people would all be false. I guess most people who aren't involved buy into the stereotypes, but you soon learn it's all about the individual.
